From the early morning getting ready stages at Papamoa Beach to the dance moves in Pongakawa, this was one fun day full of laughs and top vibes. It’s always great when couples have their kids at their wedding, and little ‘Ez’ stole the show for sure! I actually entered a series from this wedding into the 2023 Sony/NZIPP National Photography Awards, and it received a Silver Award.
I wanted to share this story and show some appreciation for new mothers. The day began and ended with feeding. The last two frames stood out to me, Mum having a toast, then left alone with her duties as everyone else moved on with the night.
I also wanted to show how little Ez was passed around from cousin to grandfather, parents, and back to cousins for family photos etc (it takes a village….). Telling this story took 25 frames, which may feel like a lot to view digitally, but that's my style sometimes, we can be detail-oriented in images too sometimes.
This was a fun day, filled with great vibes!
