2020 Professional Wedding In-Camera Photographer of the Year for 2020 (NZIPP/Iris Awards)
The 2020 Nikon/NZIPP Epson Iris Awards was completely online this year, for the first time ever (due to Covid-19). All judging was live-streamed to the public over a few days.
This is the 4th year in a row that i have won one of the Wedding Categories, which I’m really stoked about. The “In-Camera” category is for classic and traditional camera techniques without any composite manipulation in post production. A huge thank you to Momento Pro for the prize, and for sponsoring this category. Thanks to Nikon for sponsoring the event and as always, thanks to the NZIPP for putting on the show.
This year, I was also named a finalist for the Travel Category and picked up a Gold award too.
Below are my 3 winning images for the Wedding Category win. The image of Alannah with her dress was 100% done in camera, without any layers or editing. It was done at Narrows Landing in Tamahere, and created using a 45mm Canon Tilt Shift lens, while shooting through a glass triangle prism and using the lights from the chandelier for interest.
