Libby + Dave // Rotorua Wedding Photos // Bay of Plenty Wedding Photographers
Libby + Dave’s wedding was a perfect example of an unconventional (yet awesome) wedding. They had no cake cutting (they did piñata smashes instead), there was no first dance, no bridal party, they even got ready together and possibly the coolest thing, was that they walked each other down the aisle!
Libby picked a bunch of native bush and plant a few minutes before getting ready. They had their dog ‘Tiki’ with them pretty much all day, which was really awesome! There were so many kids at the wedding which I thought added to the sense of importance of family and relationships.
Between myself and their awesome event manager Nicolle Hannah, we made a last minute decision to move the ceremony outdoors on the hill (everyone got involved and helped move chairs etc). It was a good call as the rain held off for the entire ceremony.
I always find Rotorua to be a fantastic and magical wedding location, even on a very rainy and cloudy day (in fact this makes it even more magical).
This blog is a simple reminder that your wedding can be anything you want it to be. You don’t have to follow traditions if you don’t want to, it’s your wedding to do as you want :)
