This wedding was one of total adventure and awesome experiences...
A vineyard first look with instructions to 'meet at aisle 100', pet deers, stag horns, cowboy boots, hunters, a windy and rainy helicopter ride deep into the Te Rata Forest - and eventually averting mission due to crazy weather, rain rain rain, rain rain rain, and then more rain, hiding and crouching under pine trees for shelter - to avoid getting absolutely sopping wet, then getting sopping wet, waiting (hoping) for someone to come pick us up because we couldn't land the helicopter where we arranged to, no signal in the forest, watching clouds move past our heads at about 100km/h, climbing along cliff faces, followed by the most mystical and enchanting ceremony location I have ever seen, a fun wool shed reception lit up with just fairy lights, a roof raising haka, a wild and spine-chilling, dusk bridal party 'drive' down to the creek, with 11 of us clinging on tight to ‘The Buggy’ - which is basically a home made vehicle with tractor tyres, that can drive pretty much vertically up a mountain, and even has a winch on it!
I ended up driving back to my hotel along a windy dirt road while dodging possums, wearing a shirt that didn't belong to me!
This is definitely one wedding I won’t be forgetting. Crazy times but such good laughs…thanks to these absolute legends for having me along and choosing me to capture their mad Love filled day.
Glad I made it out alive haha ;)
